An
information literate person is an educated person. Information
literacy has been described as the new liberal art and
it needs to be approached as critical part of a contemporary
education. A curriculum and pedagogy must be developed
that transcends the practice of "how to library" or
the mere "content" of particular courses. How
can we make liberal education, including the art of information
literacy, relevant, engaging, and preparatory for life
long learning? What might we envision as being the best
process for matching what we see as relevant student
outcomes with what we offer?
