Dr. Nancy Becker is an associate professor in the Division
of Library & Information Science at St.
John’s University and a member of
the Institute for Information Literacy Executive Committee.
Nancy was a member of the ACRL Information Literacy Best
Practices Project Team that developed the Characteristics
of Best Practices in Information Literacy Programs. Nancy
has a MS in library science and an EdD in higher education
administration from Columbia University.
Prior to joining
the teaching faculty at St. John’s
in 1996, she was electronic information resources librarian
at Teachers
College, Columbia University. Nancy’s research
interests include information access and information seeking
behavior with a particular emphasis
on the web searching behavior of undergraduate students.
