Ms. Rangashri is a librarian by profession and a social worker by avocation. She has been instrumental in setting up of 3 homes for the mentally challenged in India. Her significant contribution to this cause has been that she is an excellent resource person for families who have a person suffering from Schizophrenia. Her main focus has been to integrate persons suffering from this illness into the community and she has managed to train mentally ill persons in managing a library and who have further been employed as librarians in schools and elsewhere.

Her main challenge was she had a full time job with UNICEF and all these activities were undertaken after office hours and on weekends. Her ability to counsel and find innovative solutions to the problems faced by the disabled deserves to be appreciated and recognized.
