LearningTimes designs
online learning communities and produces online conferences, programs
and events for libraries, educational and cultural institutions,
non-profit organizations, associations and membership groups.
LearningTimes also provides the platforms, applications and promotional
expertise
that ensure success. LearningTimes is also the founding sponsor
of LearningTimes.org,
the fastest growing community of education professionals on the
Web.
 |
The
growing LearningTimes Network now consists of 30 custom
built sites that provide online conferences, workshops,
interactive webcasts, and communication within educational
organizations. The communities in the network represent
a wide variety of organizations within the world of
education, including libraries, K-12, higher education,
educational and web publishing, government
bodies, technology providers, corporate training, nonprofit
learning consortia and associations, tutoring, continuing
and professional education, and public television. |
To
accomplish its goals, LearningTimes seeks out or develops “best-of-breed” tools
to enhance the online experience of participants, presenters
and exhibitors. LearningTimes online conferences feature capability
for live webcasts for up to 1000 people; webcast archives,
voice and text based discussion boards; 2-way VOIP based live
collaboration
areas with application sharing, virtual whiteboards, and image
import tools; integrated instant messaging, archives of the
webcasts; and voice e-mail.
Other LearningTimes Network communities use LT-enhanced chat
tools, integrated virtual classrooms or telephone based web conferencing
solutions, depending on the purpose of the Community. LearningTimes
offers training, support, and live webcast production services
for community events. We also provide marketing, outreach, and
community-building services.
Philosophy
LearningTimes' focus is on designing and producing learning communities
that connect people with other people, online. We believe in utilizing
the Web to enable rich collaboration, vibrant community activity,
and meaningful interaction between humans, especially across distances.
While the foundation of good learning relies on access to the right
content, we believe that access to the right people, in ways in
which humans are comfortable interacting, is fundamental.
Partners
Among LearningTimes'
partner organizations are: Columbia Teachers College, St.
John's University, the New York Transit Museum, Eduventures,
League for Innovation in the Community College, The World Education
Market, Reed Exhibitions, Elluminate, Wimba, Illinois Online
Conference, New Visions for Public Schools, the Academy of
American Poets,
