The
LearningTimes Library Online Conference (LTLOC) responds to the
pressing need for high quality professional development and community
building
within the vast information service field. LTLOC 2003 will take
place over 5 days in October (20 - 24), and is the first completely
online
forum to address in depth the philosophical, intellectual, and
practical issues in today’s libraries, historical societies,
archives, and museums.
Thought leaders and practitioners will convene within a LearningTimes
Online Conference Community, equipped with the latest in web based
communications tools. Together, participants will address topics
ranging from growing fiscal restraints to the future of information
service. Activities will include live collaborative webcasts, voice
and text discussion boards and interactive chat sessions.
LTLOC 2003 will also feature three keynote addresses, dozens of
workshops, and pre-conference activities devoted to the day-to-day
management of employees during the miasma that is the economy and
world events. The conference will conclude with the LTLOC 2003
Awards presented to colleagues who demonstrate innovation in information
service.
